Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly cut their merchant bar prices by TRY 50-100/mt ($3-4/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand, except in the Iskenderun region where merchant bar prices have fallen sharply by TRY 550/mt ($14/mt) due to aggressive pricing to generate cash ahead of Ramadan.
One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 26,250/mt ($602/mt) ex-works today, February 10.
Most merchant bar sellers are still offering either for deliveries in March or from stocks, depending on the size.
Most local buyers are refraining from restocking ahead of Ramadan and only purchasing in line with their daily needs.
