SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that S1 grade welding quality wire rod prices in the Turkish domestic market have decreased by $20/mt in the past two weeks and are now standing at $630/mt ex-works. On the other hand, local offers for SG2 grade welding quality wire rod have increased by $10/mt during the given period and are standing at $720/mt ex-works.

It is stated that demand for SG2 grade welding rod is currently at good levels, since this type of product is used in the manufacture of steel wire to be supplied for the Third Bosphorus Bridge.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, the construction of the Third Bosphorus Bridge, which will be 2,200 meters long, will require 37,000 mt of rebar, 14,000 mt of main cables, 8,500 mt of stiffening cables and 45,000 mt of steel girders.
