SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that Turkish wire rod export prices have increased by $15/mt since last week and are now standing at $600-605/mt FOB. Turkish wire rod producers have increased their offers on the back of higher scrap prices which have reached $400/mt CFR Turkey for ex-US HMS I/II 80:20, while market players expect no improvements in demand for Turish wire rod in the near term. It is thought that the new Turkish wire rod price levels are unlikely to gain acceptance in Europe and in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Meanwhile, decreases in ex-China wire rod offers this week support the expectation that demand for Turkish wire rod exports will remain quiet for a while.

Weekly price movements of different steel products in major markets can be viewed comparatively in the SteelOrbis Historical Steel Prices  section. Market trends can thus be seen more clearly, while desired charts can be created and used in reports or presentations.
