Turkey’s Kardemir cuts its merchant bar prices

Today, October 19, Turkish mill Kardemir has cut its merchant bar prices by $5/mt against the backdrop of the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment and sluggish demand, as compared to its previous price list issued on Monday, September 25. The list prices are shown below. 

According to sources, the mill has succeeded in selling around 30,000 mt of merchant bar so far, as buyers are taking advantage of the $100/mt discount for tonnages of 10,000 mt and above.
