In the past two weeks, the domestic price of Mexican rebar fell US$14/mt to reach US$665/mt ex-mill.

It seems that the effect of the holidays has still been felt in the construction sector, according to sources, but many in the market maintain the expectation that construction in Mexico will continue to grow in 2015, after housing construction rebounded in 2014 from dismal 2013 levels.

This prediction is supported by a notice expected soon from the federal government involving a package of fiscal measures and financing for housing development.
