As of today, November 27, local rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have remained unchanged compared to November 24, following the previous sharp price increase, as most local buyers have already restocked and size availability seems to have improved. Consequently, local 12 mm rebar prices in the spot market are now in the range of TRY 28,700-29,800/mt ($564-585/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region, with the exchange rate at $1 = TRY 42.44.
Official rebar offers for cash payments in the Marmara and Izmir regions, including İçdaş's prices, have settled at $570-590/mt ex-works, up by $5/mt on the lower end over the same period, while acceptable prices are at $565-585/mt ex-works, also up by $5/mt on the lower end compared to November 24. Producers in the Marmara region are even testing rebar sales at $590/mt ex-works.
Sources say several Iskenderun-based rolling mills are offering rebar to serious buyers today at TRY 29,000/mt ($569/mt) ex-warehouse, versus TRY 29,200-29,300/mt ($573-575/mt) ex-warehouse earlier this week.
Most local buyers are maintaining a wait-and-see stance so far.
