Today, April 22, Turkish steelmaker Icdas A.S. has issued its official rebar price at TRY 30,390/mt ($615/mt) ex-works, while also issuing its wire rod price at TRY 31,130/mt ($630/mt) ex-works, with increases of around TRY 385/mt ($5/mt) compared to April 13. Both prices include 10 percent VAT. The main reasons for the price increases are the positive sentiments in the import scrap segment and the ongoing currency fluctuations.
The workable rebar prices in the Marmara and Izmir regions currently vary at $600-620/mt, versus $595-610/mt ex-works on April 13. Most buyers are exerting pressure for additional discounts.
