The Italian mills are offering medium size rebars to the local market at price levels of around €850/mt ($1,316/mt) ex-works, with two-to-three month open account, excluding VAT. Some traders, however, are offering the same item at €825/mt ($1,248/mt) for the time being.

Base prices in the local Italian rebar market are currently at €620-630/mt ($960-975/mt). At the start of the week the rebar producers in Italy targeted the base price level of €640/mt ($991/mt) and tried to impose this level on the local market; however, so far they have not been successful in doing this.
