Rebar demand slack in Portuguese market

As SteelOrbis has heard from market insiders, rebar offers from Spain to the Portuguese domestic market have remained unchanged as compared to two weeks ago and are still at the level of €545/mt ($681/mt) for delivery to customer, on actual weight basis and for 60-day deferred payments.

On the other hand, the Portuguese rebar market has failed to see any improvement in activity. Demand in the Portuguese domestic market has remained stagnant, and this situation is expected to continue in line with the debt crisis in the euro zone.
