The reference price for Brazilian export rebar offers is stable at $950/mt from one month ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In January, Brazil exported 25,100 mt and imported 23,500 mt of rebar, against respectively 25,200 mt and 23,300 mt in December.
In January, 20,100 mt of rebar, at $741/mt, was destined to South American countries, while 4,900 mt at $705/mt were destined to the US, both FOB conditions.
The exporters were ArcelorMittal (19,400 mt) and Gerdau (5,700 mt), while a small volume was shipped by Simec.
The imports were from Peru, at $663/mt, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 6,250/mt ($1,197/mt), stable from one month ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
