The reference price for the Brazilian rebar exports is $830/mt, against $850/mt two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In July, Brazil exported 18,500 mt and imported 500 mt of rebar, against respectively 26,800 mt and no imports in June.
The exports in July were all destined to South American countries, in average at $859/mt, against $878/mt in June, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May. The exporters in June were ArcelorMittal (13,800 mt at $839/mt) and Gerdau (4,700 mt at $917/mt).
The imports were all from Turkey, in average at $830/mt, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers in medium to large volumes at BRL 5,600/mt ($1,094/mt), against BRL 5,800/mt one month ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
