The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is $815/mt, stable from one month ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In August, Brazil exported 16,600 mt and imported 26,800 mt of rebar, against respectively 33,500 mt and no imports in July.
The exports in July were all destined to South American countries, of which 10,600 mt at $666/mt by Gerdau and 6,000 mt at $733/mt by ArcelorMittal, both FOB conditions.
The imports were from Peru (26,800 mt at $712/mt) also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,350/mt ($1,101/mt), against BRL 5,500/mt one month ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
