The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is now $890/mt, against $920/mt three weeks ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In April, Brazil exported 23,400 mt and imported 4,700 mt of rebar, against respectively 49,000 mt and 2,500 mt in March.
The exports of March were all destined to South American countries. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (22,300 mt at $736/mt) and Gerdau (1,100 mt at $725/mt), both FOB conditions.
The import was from Peru (4,700 mt at $657/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,900/mt ($1,192/mt), against BRL 6,100/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
