The reference price for Brazilian rebar exports is now $860/mt, against $890/mt one month ago, FOB conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In May, Brazil exported 17,200 mt and did not import rebar, against 23,400 mt exported and 4,700 mt imported in April.
Except for 200 mt shipped by Gerdau to Jamaica, the exports of May were destined to South American countries. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (13,200 mt at $741/mt) and Gerdau (4,000 mt at $705/mt), both FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebar is being offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 5,800/mt ($1,213/mt), against BRL 5,900/mt one month ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
