Nucor Bar Mill Group announced Monday that effective with shipments April 1, 2010 it will increase transaction prices for concrete reinforcing bar products, merchant bar products, and structural products by $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt). This move is in direct result of the company raising its raw materials surcharge (RMS) by $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt) from March, to $11.65 cwt. ($257/mt or $233/nt).
Additionally, effective immediately, Nucor has increased its base price for concrete reinforcing bar products by $1.25/cwt. ($28/mt or $25/nt).
The company also noted that all orders confirmed by the close of business on March 8 will be price protected at their current price if shipped no later than March 31.
