Over the past month, Bulgarian domestic longs prices have increased by BGN 10-30/mt (€5-15/mt) amid the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment, resulting in higher import prices for long steel in the Bulgarian market.
However, based on the volume, the customer’s location and payment terms, local Bulgarian suppliers are willing to consider discounts since demand is at medium-to-low levels for all products ahead of summer season.
In the import segment, Turkish rebar and wire rod export offers to Bulgaria for June shipments are respectively available at $575-580/mt CFR, up by $25/mt, and $585-590/mt CFR, up $15/mt, both month on month, with the freight rate from Turkey to Bulgaria estimated at around $15-20/mt.
