During the week ending June 30, domestic semi-finished steel prices in China have mostly followed a stable trend, though billets prices in Fujian and slab prices in Tangshan have indicated downticks, while transaction activity in the overall market has been slack. Average prices of steel billet and slab in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, billet prices in Fujian have declined following their stable movement in the previous week, while billet prices in other regions have been stable. Iron ore and coke futures prices in China have decreased, negatively impacting domestic semi-finished steel prices. It is thought that semi-finished steel prices in the Chinese domestic market will move on a slight downtrend in the coming week.
