Local Turkish wire rod prices increase slightly

Turkish domestic wire rod prices have increased by $5-10/mt over the past week amid stronger scrap prices. In addition, Turkish mill Icdas A.S. has closed its local long product sales as of today, July 29.

Most Turkish mills are mainly offering for September production. A few mills which are currently delivering their previous orders are even offering for production at the start of October.

Sources report that limited availability of sizes is still a key issue facing wire rod buyers. Most buyers are waiting to make their purchases after the Feast of Sacrifice holiday.

Currently, the local offers for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on the actual weight basis, excluding 18 percent VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.
