As of today, January 20, official wire rod prices in Turkey have fallen by $5-10/mt depending on the region over the past week, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand due to adverse weather conditions. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to have sold wire rod at $570/mt ex-works, while additional discounts are still applicable for serious buyers.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have fallen by $5/mt over the past week to $560-580/mt ex-works.
Most buyers are refraining from new purchases due to snowy weather conditions and also as the Turkish Central Bank is due to announce its interest rate decision on Thursday, January 22.
