Local Turkish rebar spot prices have decreased slightly by TRY 8-17/mt compared to yesterday, December 12. SteelOrbis heard that some traders in Iskenderun region have been aggressive in their pricing for the past few days in order to generate sales.
Today, December 13, Turkish mill Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm rebar prices stable at TRY 2,619/mt ($453/mt) ex-works, while Izmir Demir Celik has kept its 12-32 mm rebar prices unchanged at TRY 2,627/mt ($455/mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT. SteelOrbis has continued to hear discounts of TRY 20-40/mt from mills for serious buyers in most regions of the country as they seek to stimulate their sales. Moreover, market sources indicate that some small rebar volumes may be sold by an Izmir-based producer today, at a slightly lower level than the general price range in the region.
