Prices in the local Turkish merchant bar market have remained unchanged during the past week due to the weakness of demand. Accordingly, Turkish mills’ angle prices have remained stable as compared to Tuesday, July 16, at TRY 2,800-3,040/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. SteelOrbis has been informed that discounts on list prices for serious buyers are available in the local Turkish merchant bar market.
Since market players believe that the future trend of the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate will be shaped by the Central Bank of Turkey’s anticipated decision on interest rates to be announced after its meeting on July 25, a revision in local mills prices is possible after the meeting and would take effect next week.
