According to domestic market players, in the local Italian market drawn quality wire rod prices are at €500-510/mt ($640-653/mt) for delivery to customer, indicating a decrease of €5-10/mt ($6-13/mt) compared to 10 days ago, against a background of poor demand. Nevertheless, the lack of supply means that customers in the local wire rod market are ordering slightly larger volumes than those observed in the domestic rebar market.
Meanwhile, wire rod demand remains low in the export market. Italian producers are offering wire rod at €470-475/mt ($602-608/mt) FOB, a price substantially unchanged compared to about 10 days ago. However, Algerian customers are not willing to buy yet.
