In the Italian steel market, drawing quality wire rod domestic offers are at €530/mt ($678/mt) delivered to customer. At the same time, mesh quality wire rod prices are at €520/mt ($666/mt) delivered.
Similar to the Italian rebar market, the local wire rod market in Italy has seen slight increases, but demand is still very low and this is reflected in transaction volumes.
In the export market, meanwhile, Italian wire rod offers are at €520/mt ($666/mt) FOB. Algerians buyers still have plentiful stocks and so they are not inclined to acquire material at present. Export demand for Italian wire rod is almost nonexistent and the export offers of Italian suppliers have not found acceptance. According to a market player consulted by SteelOrbis, "Suppliers cannot do anything except wait for customers to become interested in purchasing."
