The local Italian rebar market has observed a slight decrease in prices this week compared with prices at the start of the New Year, with domestic producers' prices currently at around €325-335/mt ($358-369/mt) ex-works.

Market sources state that the recent decline in scrap prices could influence rebar prices and so many market players are in wait-and-see mode at present. This turn has caused a slackening of activity, which also exerts some downward pressure on prices.
