Latest situation in local Italian rebar market

During the past week, domestic rebar prices in the local Italian market have increased by €10/mt on the lower end to €400-405/mt ($424-429/mt) ex-works. The increasing trend of domestic rebar quotations is expected to continue for some time due to tight rebar availability in the domestic market, as Italian producers had received good order volumes from foreign customers and due to maintenance works at some plants. Meanwhile, demand in the local Italian rebar market is still at low levels.
