The reduced prices announced by Turkish producer Kardemir for billet and rebar today, April 2, have attracted buyers and so, despite the challenging business conditions, Kardemir has managed to sell sizeable volumes before closing its sales.
In the billet segment, 60,500 mt have been traded at TRY 2,270/mt ($340/mt) ex-works for S235JR and at TRY 2,300/mt ($345/mt) ex-work for A-III. As regards rebar, Kardemir has sold around 334,500 mt at TRY 2,515/mt ex-works or $377/mt ex-works.
Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
