It is observed that demand for Spanish rebar in the international markets have remained at low levels over the past week. Market sources state that buyers have turned to import rebar following the imposition of the new quotas in the European region as they consider the current levels of Spanish rebar quotations to be on the high side.
On the other hand, Spanish rebar suppliers are reportedly waiting for the new quota to be used up completely, and are not considering reducing their export offers for now due to higher production costs. As a result, Spanish rebar exporters’ offers have remained stable week on week at €480-490/mt ($542-554/mt) FOB.
