In the current week, demand in the local Egyptian market for domestic production rebar has been at medium levels, though demand for import rebar has been weak. Due to the ongoing problem of foreign exchange availability in Egypt, buyers are still focusing on purchasing locally produced rebar, while domestic rebar prices in the country for May output are currently in the range of EGP 5,600-5,875/mt ($630-661/mt) ex-works, including eight percent VAT.
