SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers’ price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Price change ($/mt)

Marmara

555-560

Thrace

550-555

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

It is observed that the local Turkish wire rod market is still under the influence of import scrap quotations which had followed a rising trend for some time, though they are now moving sideways. As a result, Turkish mills have increased their domestic wire rod prices gradually over the past week. SteelOrbis has been informed that buyers have continued to show demand after the initial $15/mt rise in domestic wire rod prices, though the impact of the second price increase of  $10/mt has not yet been felt in the market.
