As of today, February 10, official wire rod prices in Turkey have mostly fallen by $5-10/mt week on week depending on the region, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. Only wire rod prices in the Izmir region have moved sideways as the price levels in this region were already low. According to sources, one Iskenderun-based mill is rumored to be testing a wire rod price of $550/mt ex-works, depending on the tonnage and payment terms.
According to sources, workable wire rod prices in Turkey have settled at $550-575/mt ex-works, down by $5/mt on the higher end over the past week.
Most buyers are postponing new purchases until after Ramadan due to the unclear financial situation in the country and sluggish demand.
