During the past week, trading activity in the local Turkish wire rod market has remained at low levels. Market sources state that Turkish wire rod producers have kept their domestic wire rod offer stable week on week despite the rises in import scrap prices, due to the weakness of demand. Additionally, domestic demand for mesh grade wire rod in Turkey is not expected to revive in the short term amid the economic problems in the domestic construction sector.
