According to market sources, domestic drawing quality wire rod (SAE1006) prices in Italy have trended sideways over the past week at €530/mt ($625/mt) delivered to customer. Local demand is still weak, but contrary to the situation in the rebar market, there is no oversupply, and prices appear in line with those recorded in the rest of Europe. On the export side, Italian wire rod offers are at €485-490/mt ($572-578/mt) FOB, though no significant transactions have been recorded in the recent period.
