SteelOrbis has been informed that CIS origin billet offers to Iran are expected to rise considerably as soon as traders return to the market after the New Year and Orthodox Christmas holidays.

While the latest ex-CIS billet offer before the New Year was quoted at the level $620/mt CFR Iranian northern ports for March shipment, traders now expect the offer price for CIS billet to rise at least to the range of $660-665/mt CFR Iranian northern ports.

Meanwhile, currently not many billets are being offered for export to Iran from Russia and Ukraine as many traders are yet to return to the market. The latest ex-Kazakhstan billet offer to Iran stood at a level of nearly $700/mt CFR Iranian northern ports for March shipment.
