Local Bulgarian long steel prices rose significantly at the end of last week, following the general uptrend in the European market.
Currently, domestic rebar prices in Bulgaria are at BGN 850-860/mt (€435-440/mt) CPT up by BGN 30-35/mt (€16-18/mt). The price range is valid for local traders’ offers for late September deliveries.
In the wire rod segment, Bulgaria’s domestic prices have increased by BGN 25/mt (€13/mt) on the lower end to BGN 880-900 (€450-460/mt) CPT.
The price range for merchant bars is now at BGN 1,000-1,020 (€511-522/mt) CPT after an increase of BGN 20-40/mt (€11-20/mt). In addition, beam prices are at BGN 1,050-1,100/mt (€537-562/mt) depending on size.
In the import segment, Turkish rebar has been on offer to Bulgaria at $470/mt (€398/mt) FOB or at €406/mt CFR for end October-beginning of November shipment, SteelOrbis estimates. Ex-Turkey wire rod prices for Bulgaria are close to €449/mt CFR for the same shipment term, while the FOB level is at $520/mt.
Turkey’s equal angle offers are at €450/t FOB or close to €460/mt CFR, while its beam offers are available at €480-490/mt CFR Bulgaria for now.
