Over the past month, local Bulgaria longs prices have fallen by BGN 10-100/mt (€5-51/mt) amid sluggish demand and the negative sentiment in the scrap and billet segments.
However, higher energy costs are also one of the main difficulties for rebar suppliers to Bulgaria like Turkey.
The overall sentiment is negative on the demand side. In the import segment, ex-Turkey merchant bar offers were standing at €780-810/mt FOB ($762-792/mt) last week, which seems fairly high for this week as the highest levels have been heard at a maximum of around $750/mt FOB. Last week, ex-Turkey beams prices were available at €1,020-1,120/mt FOB, while ex-Spain offers were at €1,100/mt CIF and ex-Poland offers were at €1,100/mt CPT for fourth quarter deliveries. The sea freight charges are roughly €30/mt from Turkey and €60/mt from Spain, while land shipment costs from Poland are around €50/mt.
