Demand in the Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained low this week. Players in the local HDG market view the price increases in the local hot rolled coil (HRC) market as a positive development and they believe that, if such upward movement continues further, this trend will likely be reflected in HDG prices as well.
In the Turkish domestic market, current HDG sales prices, which are unchanged this week, are as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 760-795 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 710-740 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 690-720 |
The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.
On the other hand, Turkish HDG export offers for April production to the export markets have remained stable since last week and are still ranging at $750-780/mt FOB. Although the peak season has started, demand on the export side for Turkish HDG has not indicated recovery yet, while attractive Chinese and Indian HDG offers to Turkey's target export destinations have continued to erode the price levels in the destinations in question.
