Despite a modest price dip in US domestic hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume offers, US import pricing remained firm this week.
However, sources are keeping a close eye on Chinese offers. For now, pricing on Chinese HDG with the specifications 0.012” x 40.875” G30 stand at $41.50-$42.50 cwt. ($915-$937/mt or $830-$850/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports. Chinese offers on 0.019” x 48” G90 remained unchanged at $41.50-$42.50 cwt. ($915-$937/mt or $830-850/nt) DDP loaded truck into US Gulf ports. In addition, Chinese offers on Galvalume with the specifications 0.019” x 41.5625” Gr80 also remained unchanged at $45.00-$46.00 cwt. ($992-$1,014/mt or $900-$920/nt) DDP loaded truck into US Gulf ports.
According to sources, Indian offers have been the wild card lately. Buyers saw both a price increase and decrease in offers earlier this month, and traders are awaiting signs of which direction prices will trend in the near term.
