US import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume offers from several countries changed this week as foreign mills fight for US buyers.
Asking prices from Indian mills for HDG with the specifications 0.012” x 40.875” G30 did not stick and offer prices fell. Offers are now in the general range $42.50-$43.50 cwt. ($937-$959/mt or $850-$870/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports. However, Indian offers on HDG with the specifications 0.019” x 48” G90 increased $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) to $44.00-$45.00 cwt. ($970-$992/mt or $$880-$900/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports.
Sources anticipate a shift in Chinese offers on HDG and Galvalume by week-end. The nation returned to work Monday after the Chinese New Year.
Meanwhile, import Galvalume offers from Mexico have softened. Offers fell $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) to $44.00-$46.00 cwt. ($970-$992/mt or $880-$900/nt) DDP loaded truck delivered into Houston.
