US import Galvalume offers increase

Import hot dipped galvanized (HDG) and Galvalume offers increased this week, along with domestic pricing offers, although sources tell SteelOrbis that overseas firms continue to receive significantly more orders than domestic mills, and are now asking for more. Most notable was a price increase of $2.00 cwt ($44/mt or $40/nt) on Taiwanese offers on 0.019" x 41.5625" Gr80, followed by Indian and Mexican offers increasing $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) for products with the same specifications. Chinese offers, meanwhile, went up just $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt).

Sources said with pressure on both the domestic and import HDG and Galvalume markets, many companies may not be in a hurry to make immediate buys.

For now, Taiwanese offers on Galvalume with the specifications 0.019" x 41.5625" Gr80 are in the general range of $41.00-$42.00 cwt. ($903-$925/mt or $820-$840/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports.

In addition, Chinese offers on Galvalume with the specifications 0.019" x 41.5625 Gr80 are up to the approximate price range $46.00-$47.00 cwt. ($1,014-$1,036/mt or $920-$940/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports. Even with the price adjustments, some of the lower import offers are seen on Indian Galvalume with the specifications 0.019" x 41.5625 Gr80 in the range of $44.00-$45.00 cwt. ($970-$992/mt or $880-$900/nt) DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports.
