US HDG prices unimpacted by Memorial Day

US domestic HDG prices have continued to hold mostly steady since our last report a week ago, although some sources close to SteelOrbis have reported that deals slightly below the average range may be available to volume buyers.

It’s unclear whether prices will undergo additional revisions between now and next week, as some within the US will extend the three-day Memorial Day holiday weekend. Revised import HDG and Galvalume prices from Mexico are expected to emerge in the upcoming days; sources say that lower prices from Mexico could lead to additional downward pressure on ex-US mill pricing.
