The Brazilian producers remain negotiating the exports of slab at $435/mt, FOB conditions for the base commercial grades, unchanged over the last three weeks, a local market source told SteelOrbis.
The EU remains as the main target for the Brazilian slab, followed by Latin America and Asia, while negotiations with clients in the US are set to resume in September in a schedule dictated by quotas under the US Section 232 regulations, the source said.
In June, Pecem exported 155,900 mt of slab at $539/mt, Ternium exported 147,700 mt at $527/mt, ArcelorMittal Tubarao exported 90,000 mt at $548/mt, and Gerdau Ouro Branco exported 36,700 mt at $526/mt, all FOB conditions, with different quality grades and price deals probably closed in April.
