Over the past week, demand for import flat steel in Turkey has remained slack and buyers have continued to exert pressure on prices by postponing their purchases. According to market sources, ex-CIS HRC suppliers are having difficulty in continuing their sales due to the weakness of demand in the global market, and therefore they are likely to decrease their prices in order to accelerate the number of orders they receive in the coming period despite high raw material costs.

During the past week, ex-CIS flat steel offers to Turkey have remained stable, with ex-CIS hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) prices still standing at $520-540/mt CFR and $570-595/mt CFR, respectively.
