Brazilian slab export deals to the US remain closed in a price range of $470/mt to $480/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, a price stable for two weeks.

The price range under CFR conditions to the US East coast is estimated at $490/mt to $500/mt, while offers for shipment to the US West coast are at $500/mt to $510/mt CFR, also stable for two weeks.

Current offers are still included in the Section 232 quota for the second quarter of 2020, although transactions are expected to be concluded in March.

For shipments to Europe, Brazilian export slab prices are also stable week-on-week in a range of $430/mt to $440/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

Lower exports during the second week of February have frustrated expectations of an increase in February from the 682,700 mt of slab exported from Brazil in January.
