Slab exports of the basic commercial grades are now traded from Brazil at $590/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis. The source added that at least one deal at such price was closed, while others were closed at $580/mt, the reference from last week.

The source mentioned that so far slab exports to the US have not been affected by the 25 percent import tariff imposed by the US.

In February, Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem exported slab at $354/mt, ArcelorMittal Tubarao exported at $414/mt, and Ternium Brazil exported at $389/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in December 2017.
