A source linked to a Brazilian producer told SteelOrbis that slab export prices are currently negotiated in a range of $390/mt to $400/mt, against a range of $400/mt to $405/mt one week ago.

Such prices refer to CFR conditions to the US (East coast) and Europe, for the basic commercial grades, the source said, adding that currently there are no significant differences between the price of the product destined to the US, in comparison with other destinations.

A source linked to another producer mentioned prices $10/mt lower than those mentioned above, but there is no confirmation so far of deals closed at that price level.

Preliminary indications by the local customs point to an increase in October from the 367,400 mt of slab exported from Brazil in September.
