Shaogang Steel hikes sheet and plate prices

Guangdong Province-based Chinese steel producer Shaogang Iron and Steel Group has lately announced new prices for several products, with the prices of common carbon steel sheet, low alloy sheet and premium carbon plate up RMB 60/mt ($9mt), and the prices of shipbuilding plate, vessel plate and boiler plate moving up by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). As a result, the producer’s 20 mm medium plate is now sold at RMB 4,230/mt ($620/mt) in the Guangzhou market. The price includes 17 percent VAT and is effective as of March 4, 2010.
