SteelOrbis has been informed that demand in the local Vietnamese hot rolled coil (HRC) market is still characterized by weakness.

Hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in the Vietnamese domestic market are currently in the range of VND 9,400-9,500/kg ($438-442/mt) ex-warehouse, down VND 1,100/kg ($51/mt) week on week, while prices of rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness are at VND 9,700-9,800/kg ($452-456/mt) ex-warehouse, down VND 1,000/kg ($47/mt) week on week. Both price ranges are for March deliveries.

On the other hand, Chinese HRC offers to Vietnam have increased by $5/mt as compared to last week and are now at $375-380/mt CFR, while Chinese offers for rerolling quality HRC of 2 mm thickness to the same destination have also increased by $5/mt as compared to last week to $390/mt CFR, both for May shipment.
