Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply a new quality strip production (QSP) plant for Vietnamese steel producer Hoa Phat Steel’s plant at Dung Quat, Vietnam. The commissioning of the new plant is expected by 2019.

Danieli stated that the plant will initially produce 3.5 million mt per year of hot rolled strip with thicknesses ranging from 1.5 mm to 12.0 mm and widths from 900 mm to 1,500 mm. The design foresees the expansion of production to four million mt per year. Due to its configuration, QSP technology offers the possibility to produce both commercial and special steels, including API grades.

This new order follows the earlier orders from Hoa Phat Steel for the supply of blast furnaces, billet casters, long product rolling mills, cold product rolling mill and strip processing lines.
