Brazilian producers are negotiating slab exports offers to the US of the basic commercial grades in a price range of $470/mt to $480/mt FOB, the same range as last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The source added that the prices for sales to other destinations also remain stable from last week, in a range of $430/mt to $440/mt, under the same conditions.

A second source has mentioned rumors of a recent sale to a non-US destination at $400/mt, FOB conditions, but it was not possible to confirm it.

In December, with price deals probably closed in October, ArcelorMittal Tubarao exported 215,800 mt of slab at $496/mt, Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem exported 161,800 mt at $493/mt, and Ternium exported 154,700 mt at $510/mt, all FOB conditions.
