The Brazilian producers are negotiating slab of the basic commercial grades for exports to the US in a price range of $470/mt to $480/mt FOB, against a range of $505/mt to $515/mt FOB last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The source added that sales to Europe are now negotiated in a range of $430/mt to $440/mt, against a range of $440/mt to $460/mt last week, under the same conditions.

In November, Brazil exported 259,100 mt of slab to the US at $543/mt, 70,500 mt to Canada at $566/mt, 64,500 mt to South Korea at $501/mt, and 36,800 mt to Uruguay at $526/mt, all FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in September.
